8x8 pricing and 8x8 cost per user with plans, fees and team totals

8x8 does not publish its prices anymore, so every 8x8 cost comes from a sales quote. Its last list prices were X2 at $24 per user per month billed yearly or $28 month to month, and X4 at $44 yearly or $57 monthly. Contact center seats (X6, X7, X8) are quoted at roughly $85 to $140+ per agent, and quotes add per-extension fees of about $3.49 for regulatory recovery and $1.99 for E911.

8x8 plans and prices

8x8 moved its pricing behind a "contact sales" button, so the figures below are the last published list prices and the ranges reported by Ringly (updated September 21, 2026) and Nextiva (September 10, 2026). Treat them as the benchmark to hold a quote against, not as a price you can click and buy.

Plan Yearly Monthly Built for
X2 $24 per user $28 per user Office phones and video
X4 $44 per user $57 per user Global calling and supervisors
X6 contact center About $85 per agent Quote only Voice queues and IVR
X7 and X8 About $110 to $140+ Quote only Omnichannel contact center

Yearly totals at list price are $288 per user on X2 and $528 on X4. A one-year X2 deal for 10 users is $2,880 before fees, and the same team on X4 is $5,280.

X2 includes unlimited calling in the US and Canada plus 14 more countries, video meetings for up to 500 people, team chat and integrations such as Salesforce and Zendesk. X4 raises unlimited calling to 48 countries and adds supervisor analytics and call monitoring. The contact center tiers add skills-based routing, surveys, digital channels, speech analytics and quality management.

8x8 fees that change the bill

The seat price is only part of an 8x8 invoice. These are the charges buyers report most often, and the ones to get in writing before you sign.

  • Regulatory recovery fee: about $3.49 per extension per month, per Nextiva's 2026 breakdown.
  • E911 service fee: about $1.99 per extension per month.
  • Additional phone numbers: roughly $2 to $10 per number per month, depending on type.
  • International calls outside the included countries: billed per minute.
  • Contact center add-ons: Ringly reports 20 to 50 percent on top of the base agent price.
  • Early termination: multi-year terms carry a fee if you leave before the end date.

Add the two per-extension fees to X2 and a 10 person office pays about $54.80 a month in fees alone, which takes the yearly X2 seat from $24 to roughly $29.48 before state taxes. On a quote, ask for the all-in monthly total, not the seat price.

What each 8x8 plan is for

The real choice is less about features and more about how far your calls travel. X2 is the office plan: a number per user, a phone menu, call recording, voicemail, mobile and desktop apps, video meetings and the main CRM connectors. Most small businesses that buy 8x8 end up here. X4 makes sense when you call a lot of countries every week, or when a supervisor needs live monitoring and deeper reports on a team. X6 and up are a separate product, a contact center with its own agent seats, and you usually buy them for a support or sales floor on top of X2 or X4 seats for everyone else. That split is where 8x8 quotes get large: a 20 person company with an 8 agent support team is buying two kinds of seats.

How much 8x8 costs by team size

Here is what a US team pays per month on 8x8 X2 at its last list price, before the per-extension fees, taxes and any discount your rep offers. The Essentials and Business columns are Youvoip plans, shown for comparison. Essentials includes a phone menu, automatic recording and analytics, and Business adds texting, queues and CRM integrations. Youvoip bills at least two seats.

Team 8x8 X2 Essentials Business
1 user $24 or $28 $25 or $50 $39 or $78
3 users $72 or $84 $37.50 or $75 $58.50 or $117
5 users $120 or $140 $62.50 or $125 $97.50 or $195
10 users $240 or $280 $125 or $250 $195 or $390
25 users $600 or $700 $312.50 or $625 $487.50 or $975

Each cell shows the yearly billing total first and the month to month total second.

The honest reading: a solo user pays less on 8x8 because Youvoip has a two-seat minimum. From three users up, both Youvoip plans cost less than X2 on yearly billing. Month to month, Essentials at $25 is $3 below X2, while Youvoip Business at $39 is $11 per seat above it, so a monthly team that needs texting and CRM logging can pay less on 8x8 if the quote matches the old list price.

Which 8x8 plan do you need?

Pick X2 if your team calls mostly inside the US and Canada and needs a phone menu, recording and a CRM connection. Pick X4 if you call several countries every week or need supervisors to monitor live calls. Consider X6 or higher only for a dedicated support or sales floor with queues, skills routing and agent reporting. Outbound sales teams often get pushed toward X4 for monitoring. If most of those calls are first-touch prospecting, AI cold calling that qualifies leads before a rep picks up can cut the number of monitored seats you need. The common mistake is buying X4 for everyone when only one manager uses the extra reports.

How to get a fair 8x8 quote

Because the price is negotiated, the buyer who asks the right questions pays less. Ask the rep for the per-seat price on both 12 and 36 month terms, and for month to month if you need flexibility. Ask for the full list of recurring fees per extension and per number, and whether they are fixed or can rise during the term. Ask what the early termination fee is and whether unused seats can be removed mid-term. Ask if desk phones are leased, bought or brought from your current system. Then compare that all-in monthly figure against a provider with published prices. If the quote is close to $24 per seat yearly with a three-year term, you are near the old list price.

Is 8x8 worth the money?

8x8 is good value for companies that call internationally every day or that run a real contact center. Unlimited calling to 14 or 48 countries replaces a lot of per-minute charges, and having business phones, video and a contact center from one vendor simplifies a large rollout. It is harder to justify for a US office of 5 to 30 people. That team calls domestically, does not need a contact center, and ends up paying for a sales cycle, a multi-year term and per-extension fees to get features that self-serve providers include on the entry plan.

What you get for the same budget on Youvoip

Every Youvoip seat is a full phone line, with a minimum of two seats, no contract and the price on the page. On Essentials, $12.50 per user per month billed yearly or $25 monthly, each user gets a number, a multi-level auto attendant with business hours and holidays, ring groups, voicemail to email with transcription, automatic call recording kept 90 days, call analytics with missed calls and answer rate per person, and support for compatible SIP desk phones. Business, at $19.50 yearly or $39 monthly, adds business texting, call queues with wait time announcements, a year of searchable recordings, HubSpot, Salesforce and Zoho integrations, whisper and barge, and video meetings for up to 100 people. Youvoip includes unlimited calling in the US and Canada only, so if you call abroad all day, 8x8 is the stronger fit.

8x8 pricing questions

How much does 8x8 cost per month?

8x8 quotes each account, but its last list prices were $24 per user per month for X2 and $44 for X4 on yearly billing, or $28 and $57 month to month. Contact center agents run about $85 to $140+ per month. Per-extension fees of about $3.49 and $1.99 and taxes come on top.

Why doesn't 8x8 show prices on its website?

8x8 now sells through sales reps and builds each quote from the number of users, locations, countries called and contact center seats. That lets it discount larger deals, but it means a small business cannot compare 8x8 against other providers without booking a call first.

Does 8x8 require a contract?

8x8 offers month to month billing at higher rates, $28 instead of $24 per user on X2 at the last list price, and discounts for annual and multi-year terms. Multi-year agreements carry an early termination fee, so check the end date and notice period before you sign.

Does 8x8 have a free plan?

No. 8x8 does not sell a free business phone plan. To test a phone menu before you pay anyone, build a call flow in the Youvoip VoIP demo and hear it run in your browser.

Leaving 8x8 without a gap in service

Start with the contract: find the term end date, the notice period and any early termination fee. Export the call recordings and voicemails you must keep, because they stay in the 8x8 account. Then set up the new menu, ring groups and voicemail boxes, register desk phones that are SIP compatible, invite the team and test while 8x8 keeps answering. Submit the port for every number, including fax and toll-free lines, and cancel 8x8 only after calls arrive on the new system.
